Product Description

The RAM Inline Fan is designed for quiet air movement while guaranteeing high-pressure performance. This duct fan has a patent Fast-Flow even air-flow fin to deliver optimal performance.

Key Features

  • Impressive air flow rate
  • Reliable wall or ceiling mount
  • Easy to install and use
  • Patented Fast-Flow technology
  • Very quiet and very powerful
  • Low wattage
  • Designed for consistent year-round usage

How It Works

Its signature is the Fast Flow performance technology that makes it stand above competitors. The Fast Flow is an anti-turbulence fine that works to slow down the air coming into the fan and results in a more direct and smoother flow of air into the ducting. RAM Inline Fans work by moving air through centrifugal force. The spinning blades move air from the centre of the fan towards the outer edges. This creates low pressure at the fan’s centre which pulls air towards it. Air is then moved through the fan and pushed out the other side.

How to use RAM Inline Fans

This comes supplied with a mounting bracket for installation and an IEC socket for plugging into the mains. It is suitable for both ceiling and wall installation. Do not mount on a weak surface. Silencers can be fitted if noise is a problem. Note: IEC leads are not supplied and will need purchasing separately.

FAQs
What is a RAM inline duct fan?
A RAM inline duct fan is a high-performance ventilation device designed for efficient air circulation in various settings. These fans are engineered to move large volumes of air through ductwork, making them ideal for grow rooms, hydroponics setups, and HVAC systems. RAM inline fans feature powerful motors, durable construction, and low noise operation, ensuring optimal airflow and temperature control in enclosed spaces.
How do inline fans work?
Inline fans work by pulling air through one end of the duct and pushing it out the other. They're installed directly in the ductwork, creating a continuous airflow. The fan's motor drives an impeller, which creates suction to draw air in and propel it through the system. This design allows for efficient air movement over long distances, making inline fans ideal for ventilation in spaces where traditional fans may not be effective.
What sizes are available for RAM inline fans?
RAM inline fans come in various sizes to suit different ventilation needs. Common sizes include 4-inch, 6-inch, 8-inch and 10-inch models. The size refers to the diameter of the fan's inlet and outlet, which corresponds to the duct size it fits. Larger sizes generally offer higher airflow capacity, measured in cubic feet per minute (CFM). Choose the size that best matches your space and ventilation requirements.
Are RAM inline fans energy-efficient?
Yes, RAM inline fans are designed with energy efficiency in mind. They utilize high-quality motors and aerodynamic impeller designs to maximize airflow while minimizing power consumption. Many models feature variable speed controls, allowing users to adjust fan speed and power usage based on specific needs. This energy-efficient operation helps reduce electricity costs and environmental impact over time.
How loud are RAM inline fans?
RAM inline fans are engineered for quiet operation. While noise levels vary depending on the model and speed setting, most RAM fans produce between 30-60 dBA at maximum speed. This is comparable to normal conversation levels or a quiet office environment. The use of advanced impeller designs and vibration-dampening materials helps minimize noise, making them suitable for noise-sensitive applications.
Can RAM inline fans be used for exhaust and intake?
Yes, RAM inline fans are versatile and can be used for both exhaust and intake applications. When used for exhaust, they remove hot, humid, or stale air from a space. For intake, they draw in fresh air to maintain positive pressure or introduce cooler air. Some growers use two fans in tandem, one for intake and one for exhaust, to create a balanced airflow system in their grow rooms.
Do RAM inline fans have speed controls?
Many RAM inline fan models come with built-in speed controls or are compatible with external speed controllers. This feature allows users to adjust the fan's speed to match specific ventilation needs, optimize energy usage, and control noise levels. Some advanced models offer digital controls or can be integrated with environmental controllers for automated operation based on temperature and humidity levels.
How do I install a RAM inline fan?
Installing a RAM inline fan is generally straightforward. First, determine the ideal location in your ductwork. Secure the fan using the provided mounting brackets, ensuring it's level and properly aligned with the ducts. Connect the fan to the ductwork using appropriate-sized ducting and secure it with duct clamps. Finally, connect the fan to a power source, following all electrical safety guidelines. For complex setups, consider consulting a professional.
What maintenance do RAM inline fans require?
RAM inline fans are designed for low maintenance. Regular cleaning of the fan blades and housing is recommended to prevent dust buildup and maintain efficiency. Inspect the fan periodically for any unusual noises or vibrations. The high-quality bearings in RAM fans are typically sealed and don't require lubrication. With proper care, RAM inline fans can provide years of reliable operation with minimal maintenance.
Does the RAM inline duct fan have an IEC socket?
Many RAM inline duct fan models are equipped with an IEC socket for power connection. This standardized socket allows for easy and secure power cord attachment, enhancing safety and convenience. The IEC socket also provides flexibility in power cord length and type, allowing users to choose the appropriate cord for their specific installation requirements. Always check the product specifications for the exact power connection details.
