Product Description

Flexible, high-quality aluminium ducting for insulation. An inner thin layer of fibreglass is housed between two layers of aluminium. This gives insulation in two ways, not only can it protect from heat loss and extraction it can also reduce noise from fans and considerable air movement. The interlining boosts the performance whilst assuring no fibre glass invades the air stream. This is best used on ventilation units for both input and output.

Key Features

  • Aluminium insulated ducting
  • Long-lasting and crimp-resisting
  • Reduces noise in the grow room from fans
  • Reduces heat loss from heat-extracting ducting
  • Use with our Quick Release Ducting Clamps
  • Easy to connect for round or oval ducting
  • No special tools for cutting or fixing
  • No toxic gases if inflamed
  • Flexible pleated airtight ducting

How To Use Aluminium Ducting

It's best to wear gloves when installing ducting to avoid any potential skin irritation. Make sure the ducting is fitted with as tight an air seal as possible. An inadequate fit to the filter or fan may mean air leakage and bypass elsewhere. Try to avoid bending or creating kinks in the duct run as this can lower the amount of air passing through and could cause back-pressure on the fan. Use a lit splint and run it along your extraction line to check for air leaks. You’ll identify any gaps by seeing smoke pass into the duct run.

FAQs
What is aluminium ducting used for?
Aluminium ducting is primarily used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to distribute air efficiently. It's also popular in industrial applications, including dust collection and exhaust systems.
Is aluminium ducting better than plastic?
Aluminium ducting is often preferred over plastic due to its superior durability, heat resistance, and long lifespan. Unlike plastic, it doesn’t warp or degrade easily, making it a more reliable option for HVAC systems.
How do I install aluminium ducting?
Installing aluminum ducting involves measuring the required lengths, cutting the duct to size, and securely connecting it to the HVAC system. It's essential to seal joints properly to prevent air leaks and ensure efficient airflow.
How do you clean aluminium ducting?
To clean aluminum ducting, you can use a vacuum with a brush attachment or a duct cleaning brush. Regular cleaning helps maintain optimal airflow and prevents the buildup of dust and debris, which can reduce efficiency.
How long does aluminium ducting last?
Aluminium ducting can last for many years, often decades, with proper maintenance. Its resistance to corrosion and wear makes it a durable choice for both residential and commercial HVAC systems.
Does aluminium ducting reduce noise?
Aluminium ducting can help reduce noise in HVAC systems, especially when lined with soundproofing materials. Its solid construction dampens vibrations, minimizing the noise that travels through the ductwork.
Can I use aluminium ducting for exhaust fans?
Yes, aluminium ducting is an excellent choice for exhaust fans, particularly in kitchens and bathrooms. It effectively removes moisture, odours, and heat, preventing mould growth and improving indoor air quality.
