How It Works

This soil medium is perfect for rooting cuttings and seedlings. Its low EC level of just 0.4 suits very young plants. Assuring great drainage and aeration, this medium invigorates roots to grow healthily and rapidly and protects the most fragile of roots from burning with overnutrition.   

How To Use Canna Terra Seed Mix 25L and What It Is Used For

It can be used for starting plants in a number of ways. For sowing seeds in Terra Seed Mix, sow the seeds 2-3 mm deep in a container maximum of 5cm in diameter. This growing medium requires regular spraying. Seedlings start with their own energy reserves to begin with. Seeds need to be kept warm and moist, a propagator is ideal. The propagator's lid needs to be removed as soon as the seeds emerge.

For cultivating young seedlings, be careful not to place them too close to a powerful grow lamp or leave them in direct sunlight. Only feed with a solution that is low in EC (1.2), Canna Rhizotonic is advised for root strengthening. These seedlings can be potted out after developing two or three leaves.

Specification

While it is possible to sow seeds outdoors, this is not advised. Ground temperatures outside are far from the warm and moist conditions that seeds prefer for growing.
