Smart Gro - 2 Light Contactor Switch

This contactor from Smart Gro is designed to handle high currents incurred through hydroponic grow lights. Standard mains-powered electrical time-switches are not designed to accommodate these. Contactors are able to switch the power output without risking overload whilst using multiple grow lights.

What It Is Used For

The timers available today are likely to fail if they are needed to switch on and off load’s demanded by a grow light ballast. This contactor from Gro Star is able to switch the electrical power relieving the timer of the job. The timer is used to switch the contactor instead of switching the power. As a result, the contractor will switch the power to your ballast. It is reliable and safe for turning on and off lights activated by the time switch.

How To Use

Program the timer by setting it to the correct time, then inset it into a mains socket. Insert the timer plug into the timer. Insert the ‘Mains’ plug into a separate mains outlet. Plug your ballast or ballasts into the output trailing socket on the contactor. Switch on the mains outlets. The contactor is now able to switch your lighting system on according to the program set on the timer. No more than two lights should be switched, with a load not exceeding 13 amps.
