Product Description

These small Rockwool croutons are ideal for use as a hydroponic rooting medium. They can also be added to other mediums for a bespoke mix. They are clean, lightweight and well aerated and perfect for passive growing in pots or using in a Wilma system.

What They Are Used For

Grow Cubes are for use on their own as a medium or in collaboration with other mediums such as clay pebbles. Rockwool has a fibrous structure capable of holding a lot of air and water for plants to take root in. The small size allows for quick drainage and space for air and oxygen for roots.

How To Use Grow Cubes

Grow Cubes require soaking in pH adjusted water for several hours before being shake or squeezed to have the excess drained out of them. Once this is done, plants and cuttings can be placed into the Grow Cubes and the system can be run.

FAQs
What are Grow Cubes?
Grow Cubes are small, lightweight hydroponic growing media made from rock wool or similar materials. They provide an optimal environment for seed germination and root development, offering excellent water retention and aeration for healthy plant growth.
How do you use Grow Cubes?
To use Grow Cubes, simply soak them in water or a nutrient solution until fully saturated, then place seeds or cuttings into the cubes. Position the cubes in a tray or hydroponic system, ensuring they stay moist for optimal root development and plant growth.
How do you germinate seeds in Grow Cubes?
To germinate seeds in Grow Cubes, place the seeds directly into the pre-soaked cubes, then keep them in a warm, well-lit area. Maintain moisture by misting or adding water as needed, and seedlings should emerge within a few days, depending on the seed type.
Are Grow Cubes reusable?
Grow Cubes are typically single-use, especially when used for seed germination. Reusing them can lead to contamination or reduced effectiveness, so it's generally recommended to use fresh cubes for each new planting cycle.
What plants can be grown in Grow Cubes?
Grow Cubes are versatile and suitable for a wide range of plants, including vegetables, herbs, and flowers. They are particularly popular in hydroponic systems and for starting seeds or rooting cuttings.
How do Grow Cubes benefit hydroponic gardening?
Grow Cubes benefit hydroponic gardening by providing an ideal balance of moisture retention and aeration. This promotes strong root growth, which is crucial in a soilless environment, leading to healthier and more productive plants.
Can Grow Cubes be used in soil-based gardening?
Yes, Grow Cubes can be used in soil-based gardening as a starter medium for seeds or cuttings. Once roots are established, the cubes can be transplanted directly into soil, helping plants transition smoothly from a controlled environment to the garden.
