Chinese elm bonsai trees are one of the most popular varieties of bonsai because they provide some flexibility: they can be grow either indoors or outdoors.
If outdoors, you can place the Chinese elm in full sun and/or partial shade and will drop its leaves in winter.
If keeping indoors, choose a sunny windowsill that receives plenty of light. During winter, keep it in a cool room away from central heating and it should hold some leaves.
