Bloom Quality Nutrients

Bloom - Good Quality Nutrients..

I have been asked to write a blog on my experiences within the ‘indoor gardening’ world for the purpose of these blogs my name is Star Dawg, I hope these blogs will offer help and advice to beginners and or experienced growers

Over the last 10 years I have tested pretty much every brand of nutrients organic and chemical, what I found was that I would use certain products from various brands and make my own mix up from the selected products this is because some products in a certain range wouldn’t be very good so I would have to mix and match with brands.

About 9 month ago I was advised by Hyjo to give the Bloom range a try so I purchased a deluxe pack and set to work.

Let’s take a look at the range:

Euro A+B: Easy to use 1mm perL for the first 2 weeks of growth and then 2mm perL for the rest of the grow, full of organic goodness chelated micro trace elements , fulvic acid  and vitamins

Seaweed: This is 1 of my favourite products in the range, it is used in veg at 1mm perL good for feeding mother plants and any plants showing signs of stress good for keeping plants super healthy.

Organic sweet: Contains worm tea and sea minerals to help with natural aroma production. Aroma of a flower is a genetic trait if you have weak genetics or have a poor growing environment this won’t suddenly make your crop smell and taste amazing, it will help to boost the plants NATURAL aroma and taste and unlike bud candy won’t make all your strains taste the same. Use from the 3rdweek of veg up until flush at the rate of 1mm perL

Cal&Mag: Is one of those products that some people use and others don’t it can depend on the quality of water you are using , if your using an RO filter to give you RO water then the filter will have taken out most of the cal&mag from your tap water so I would suggest using it, if you are using tap water to feed your plants you probably won’t need to use it all the way through the grow unless you see signs of deficiency like the yellowing of leaves, even if you aren’t using RO water I would suggest running cal & Mag alongside your PK to aid with nutrient uptake in the flowering stage. Usage is 1mm perL

Pre: WOW this stuff is brilliant creates wider plants a must if you are doing any kind of training LST SCROG or SUPER CROPPING, contains amino acids and fulvic acid I do a lot of LST training and this product is a must for me .use in week 3 and 4 of a 5 week veg cycle at 1mm perL

Silica: This is the best silica I’ve ever used, gives you thick chunky stems which help to support all of the lovely fat swollen flowers, and helps to protect the plant from insect attacks which is a bonus. Usage is 0.4mm perL all the way through up until flush.

Roots: The key to healthy plants is a healthy root zone so using a good root stim is a must, this 1 does a good job, if your using DWC you will be able to see how healthy and strong your root look during the grow cycle, if using soil or coco when you harvest the plant break up the root ball and see how thick and healthy the roots are.

Ultra: Use in week 1&2 of flower at 1mm perL, it triggers the start of the flowering cycle and can slow down plant stretch (minimal) contains b vitamins and fulvic acid.

Phat: PHAT is right this adds major weight to the flowers and helps the plant to absorb potassium and phosphorous use in weeks 3&4 of flower at 2.5mm perL.

Ooze: Brilliant product you can see the plants putting on weight with this product it helps with terpenoid production and essential oils both of which attribute to the aroma of the flowers. Use in the last 4 weeks of flower.

Sea fuel: Carries on from the seaweed, cold compressed kelp and mashed up fish heads PLANTS LOVE THIS STUFF! Use throughout the flower cycle up until flush at 1mm perL

PK: Gives the plants a boost in phosphorus and potassium 1mm per L in weeks 5&6 of an 8 week flower used in run to waste only not recirculating systems

Sea minerals: Similar to superthrive can be used if the plant is showing signs of stress I like to use this all the way throughout the grow giving plants access to all the minerals they need

Final: Is used to give the plants 1 last push in the last 2 weeks of flower its similar to H&G top shooter only better

Foliar sprays: It’s only in the last 2 years that I realised how important foliar feeding was especially when the plants are young, Bloom do 1 for veg called groigen and 1 for bloom which is called florigen both are 20mm per L and both of them are very good

The best time to foliar feed is just as the lights have gone out using a green LED head torch

As you can see from above the Bloom range is extensive (nearly as extensive as Advanced) I suppose the question is do you need all these products to grow healthy, strong plants? The answer would be no, you could grow decent plants with A&B and abit of PK as I have done in the past and present, having said that I’ve had some of the best results of my life running the full deluxe range I think that all the products in the range matter-I love growing with organics and would never go back to using mineral feeds (apart from testing new ranges)  this range really is 1 of the best I’ve ever tested and would recommend it with confidence to anyone.

The important thing to remember with growing is that you need to learn what the plant needs rather than just doing as the chart says, charts should be used as a guideline and a point of reference. I see at least 1 grower a week who is ruining plants by over feeding or feeding things when they don’t need it and when I ask the question why? The answer is the same ….because it says so on the chart so it must be right. I have recently been in Holland and the grow that I went to was a prime example A Canna chart pinned to the wall and whatever the chart said that is what the lad did he had some of the best genetics in Holland but he was producing an average product. Due to his inability to read the plants.

EC:

When using the bloom range you will notice a slightly higher EC than you would expect or be used to. If you follow the chart (not the bottle) this will not harm your plants at all I have run tests with plants fed as per the chart and plants fed with what you would call normal EC values and I found that if I weakened the EC to the normal EC the plants quickly showed signs of deficiency’s ranging from Nitrogen, and also PK if you follow the chart you can’t go wrong.

Flushing:

I was advised by bloom nutrients that you don’t need to flush with water with this range but I ignored this advice as most organic ranges claim this and when I tested the theory in the past the end product was unacceptable. So I have been giving the plants a 10 day flush with water until my last grow when I decided to keep 1 plant on the ooze and final up until harvest day as bloom suggests

The results were very surprising I gave out samples to 5 people including myself sample A (unflushed) sample B (10 day water flush) 1/5 said that sample A was the best 4/5 including myself said that both samples tasted very similar. I’ve been testing both samples for the last 7 days and still can’t find fault with sample A it really is outstanding quality

You can download a feed chart to follow as a guideline from Bloomadvancedfloriculture.com they only give you an 8 week flowering cycle but after speaking with bloom about 10 and 12 week cycles you simply add the extra weeks when you are using the Phat so if you want a 10 week flower then you add an extra 2 weeks of Phat so instead of 2 weeks you have 4 weeks

Thanks for reading my blog
